Our authentic, handmade suzani cushion covers originate in Nurata, Uzbekistan. The intricate, colourful pattern is drawn onto the heavy cotton base fabric before embroidering happens. Common motifs include flowers, leaves, fruits, particularly pomegranate. To begin with, silk threads are hand-dyed with natural pigments, getting ready to reveal gorgeous imagery on the rectangular portable looms. Next, craftsmanship is at its best when the skilful hands build up the whole traditional, complex pattern.
To achieve a distinctive genuine effect and to get more softness, our suzanis are subject to a handwash finishing process. Each one of them is offering a sense of delicacy while being robust enough to provide a long-last delightful experience for your home.
Nurata suzanis are well known all around the world for their unique, unquestionable style. Being totally handmade with care and attention to details by dozens of different workers, there is no single piece of item to resemble with another one. Thus, slight imperfections and variations in terms of colours, patterns and size may occur, making this article to be so special. Images are subject to availability.
