Inspired by the rich maritime traditions of the mediterranean, MINDTHEGAP launches the 'Sundance Villa' Collection.
Continuing the celebration of its fifth anniversary, Transylvania based lifestyle brand, MINDTHEGAP launches its second collection of 2021. Inspired by the sea washed shores of the Mediterranean, the Sundance Villa collection captures the vibrant and colourful coastal ambiance of the Mediterranean, encapsulating the chic and rustic mood of this inspiring region. Exploring the Aegean and Ionian seas' rich waters, up from Samothraki down to Rhodes island and Fiscardo Bay, MINDTHEGAP navigated through old yachting ports and some of the most secluded private and sunny beaches in search of nautical bliss.
The new collection pairs supple Mediterranean style line and cotton with fabulous locally inspired patterns, the finishing of cushions and furnishings exemplifying European craft. The abundance of aquatic life from plush seaweed to beautiful seashells and natural corals inspired the designers to create a collection of wallpaper and fabrics that reflects a distinctive coastal aesthetic. Truly unique and charming, the range of patterns also features hand drawn Ikat motifs specific to Aegean culture and authentic Greek elements reimagined by MINDTHEGAP's talented artists.
The tranquil elegance of a coastal lifestyle is juxtaposed by the eclectic mix of luxury and comfort, brought to life in nautical shades of blue, red, and white. Iconic Greek architectural elements are harmoniously incorporated into complex, lavish murals, while elegant nautical stripes and geometric drawings complete the bold selection of statement designs.
Immerse yourself in sun kissed island life and the blue waves of the Mediterranean, and enjoy the carefree lifestyle that this collection inspires.
"I've always been fascinated by the sea. For me, it represents the ultimate feeling of freedom. It is where my wandering spirit can flow freely, and I can immerse myself in the inspiration that fills my soul. I took my time creating this lifestyle collection, as all the patterns evoke a cherished memory or a wistful dream. The birthplace of our newest collection is the remote Samothraki island. As I stood before the ruins of the Sanctuary of the Great Gods, I envisioned the mysterious ceremonies that took place there for centuries.
We were incredibly fortunate to have been able to travel to create this collection, with the world situation as it is and travel a distant dream, until it is safe to explore once more; it's wonderful to be able to bring the spirit of the Mediterranean into the home - wherever that may be." explains Founder Stefan Ormenisan.
